The precursor distillery was founded in Malaga by the Frenchman Charles Lamothe and the Spaniard Pedro Jiménez under the name "Jiménez & Lamothe".
After passing through the hands of Pernod Ricard and Fortune Brands, the brand currently belongs to Beam Suntory.
Although the brand maintains its strong identity with the Mediterranean spirit of Malaga, part of its production is carried out in the group's facilities in Spain, such as the Palazuelos de Eresma (Segovia), where DYC whiskey is also made.
